Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells seeks a Police Clerical Assistant to maintain official police records and handle communications, including a police radio base station and phone inquiries. The role requires applying directives and maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Under general supervision, the Police Clerical Assistant is responsible work for maintaining official police records; various communications responsibilities including operation of a police radio base station, answering the telephone, and performing a wide variety of legal clerical duties necessary to the operation of the police records function; and related work as required.
A Police Clerical Assistant is considered a responsible clerical and record keeping function which includes secretarial, computer and related tasks. The work requires the exercise of judgment and the application of established directives, policies, and procedures relating to both critical and non-critical police matters. Considerable judgment is required in establishing or adapting work procedures to new situations, while performing various clerical and minor administrative activities. Work is reviewed through the day-to-day observation of the skills, knowledge, and abilities - related to the duties and responsibilities required of the job.
The Police Clerical Assistant is responsible for the occasional receipt and transmission of emergency police radio, telephone, and wide-area computer messages, and must possess the ability to carry out special instructions to meet unusual circumstances or emergencies.
The employee must sign a confidentiality agreement. If the employee violates the said confidentiality agreement, the employee will be subject to administrative actions including up to termination.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk or listen for long periods of time; use hands and fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must attend regularly scheduled hours and occasionally may be required to work long hours, beginning in the morning and continuing into the evening. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Years of Service at WRS agencies will be credited to the Vacation schedule.
Eleven paid holidays: New Year's Day, Easter (Good Friday), Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day and 1 Personal Holiday.
The city participates in the Wisconsin State Health Plan. The city contributes 88% of the lowest plan rate available toward the employee's chosen health plan. The employee is responsible for the balance of the insurance premium through a payroll deduction. Under IRS Section 106, employee contributions are taken out pre-taxed. Medical co-pays are $60 for the emergency room and 20% for any durable medical equipment. The city will reimburse the employee for two ER co-pays per year and all DME co-pays.

Employees are eligible to enroll in dental insurance, however premiums are paid 100% by the employee.
While providing a Section 125 Cafeteria Plan for the city, AFLAC offers supplemental cancer, accident, disability and other supplemental insurance. Premiums are paid for by the employee through a payroll deduction. A Flexible Spending Account is also available under Section 105 which allows the employee to use pre-taxed dollars for out of pocket qualifying expenses.
The city participates in the Wisconsin Public Employers Group Life Insurance Program. Premiums are based on the employee's age and coverage amount. Premiums are paid for by the employee through a payroll deduction. Spouse and dependent life insurance is also available.
The city participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
The city offers a deferred compensation plan for additional retirement savings. It is administered by VOYA Financial Services and contributions are made by the employee through a payroll deduction. There is no city contribution for this program as it is a voluntary employee option.
