Job summary

Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Los Angeles seeks an attorney for its Police/Civil Rights Practice. The candidate should have at least 2 years of civil litigation experience or 5 years of criminal trial work, plus substantial deposition and/or jury trial exposure.

The role requires California Bar admission, handling civil cases likely to go to trial, and a minimum of 1,950 billable hours per year with a hybrid schedule of two in-person DTLA days per week and remote work otherwise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years civil litigation experience or 5+ years criminal trial experience (or 5+ years civil litigation).
• Minimum 10 civil case witness depositions or 10 jury trials (lead or second chair).
• Minimum 5 jury trials with witness exam (lead or second chair).
• Willingness to meet firm minimum billing of 1,950 hours/year and hybrid schedule (two in-person DTLA days).
• Admission to the California Bar is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil cases likely to go to trial in coordination with lead attorney and case support team.
• Manage deposition, discovery and trial preparation with the team.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to case strategy.
