Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center Police Department in Dallas, Texas seeks Police Cadets to support experienced officers while learning procedures and community engagement. Cadets will be enrolled in the Texas Policy Academy at no cost to help advance toward commissioning as peace officers within UT System.

Starting salary for Cadet is $71,935 with benefits such as zero-cost healthcare for employees, paid time off, weekend/holiday pay, career growth, and uniform provisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Complete Texas Police Academy within 15 calendar days after basic Peace Officer Training Course.

Responsibilities

• Attend classes and maintain notebooks.
• Participate in physical training, firearms training, and defensive tactics.
• Comply with Police Academy rules and UT System policies.
• Perform duties as assigned by Director of Police or Academy staff.
• Adhere to campus police policies regarding attendance and status.

Complete Texas Police Academy within 15 days of completion of training
