Job summary

City of Visalia is seeking candidates for the Police Agent eligibility list. Under direction, the agent will join high-priority assignments and coordinate with other City Departments to solve problems in assigned districts.

The role may supervise officers when a Sergeant is absent and respond to major crime scenes as needed. Required are two years of sworn municipal law enforcement experience (with at least one year in Visalia as a full-time sworn Officer), and the POST Basic Professional

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of sworn municipal law enforcement experience, including at least one year with the Visalia Police Department as a full-time sworn Police Officer.
• POST Basic Professional Certificate is required.
• Not on probationary status.

Responsibilities

• Serves on special high-priority assignments under direction.
• Collaborates with other City Departments for planning and problem solving.
• Addresses quality of life issues within assigned districts; may supervise officers in the absence of a Sergeant.
• May be called upon to respond to major crime scenes or other priority incidents outside regular assignment.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.
