FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek is seeking a Poker Room Supervisor to oversee daily operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage staff, approve game openings, promote tournaments, maintain compliance with gaming rules, and protect security and confidentiality across the Poker Room.

Qualifications

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Poker Room and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with gaming regulations, managing staff performance, and delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

In the absence of the Poker Manager, assumes all responsibilities of the Poker Room.

Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved by providing exceptional guest service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere throughout the Poker Room.

Approves the opening and closing of games. Manages labor levels holding overtime and calling in additional help as needed, due to volume of business and guest needs.

Promotes and administers multi-table tournaments and daily promotions. Updates and maintains department records and generates daily reports.

Maintains security of all areas; makes on-the-scene operating decisions as needed; resolves problems and situations as they arise in the room.

Approves player complimentaries according to the approved comp matrix.

Ensures compliance with Gaming regulations, the company’s policies and procedures, gaming procedures and guest service standards; enforces adherence to all Tribal, federal, and state regulations.

Greets and welcomes guests to the Poker Room, establishing rapport with personalized service.

Monitors any suspicious or unusual activities.

Ensures all inventory supplies are maintained, and monitors the security of distributing cards, etc. in accordance with gaming regulations.

Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.

Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.

Must present a professional and well-groomed appearance.

Maintains departmental records and logs and communicates effectively with counterparts to ensure consistency of the daily operation of the Poker Room on a shift to shift basis.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining sufficient staffing levels; interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Directly supervises all Poker Room Dealers and subordinate Poker Room staff. Maintains a consistent and continuous observation of guest service standards and technical performance of Poker Room staff.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.

High School diploma or GED. Three years progressive experience in Poker Room, combined with multi-table tournament experience and complete understanding and application of Tournament Directors Association (TDA) rules. Proficiency with casino computer rating and tracking system. Must possess excellent knowledge and comprehension of generally accepted poker rules and demonstrate the ability to apply the rules in a consistent manner. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be at least 21 years of age.

GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

No general or preferred qualifications.

Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs. WEEA Certified.
