Job summary

Texas Card House is seeking a Chip Runner to support poker operations on-site in Houston. The role involves seating players, managing chip runs to the Cage, delivering decks to dealers, and ensuring smooth game flow.

You will greet guests, assist dealers, and monitor promotions while maintaining a clean poker area. This position requires strong poker knowledge, quick math, excellent customer service, and the ability to multitask in a high-energy casino environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Texas Hold'em rules and hand rankings.
• Experience dealing poker in a casino or card room setting.
• Strong math skills for quick mental calculations.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle chips with dexterity.
• Understanding of Title 31 regulations and ability to identify suspicious activity.
• Strong organizational skills and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of casino games, rules, and operations.
• Assist in seating players and managing chip runs to and from the Cage.
• Deliver new decks of cards to dealers upon request.
• Observe and report on game play, identifying irregularities or potential issues.
• Perform regular table touches, greeting guests and assisting dealers and poker room staff.
• Assist in administering promotions and monitor player activity in the poker room.
• Ensure the poker area remains clean and organized, addressing spills promptly.
• Track players waiting for seats and manage player flow in the poker room.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure a positive guest experience.
• Identify and report suspicious activity per Title 31 regulations.
• Communicate clearly with dealers, floor staff, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
• Complete closing tasks, including securing chips and verifying dealer banks.
