Job summary

Hard Rock Casino Rockford is seeking a skilled Poker Dealer to deliver exceptional guest service while maintaining the integrity of the games under the direction of the Floor Supervisor. You will deal assigned poker games, manage bets and money accurately, and mentor fellow team members to ensure a superior guest experience for our guests.

• Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deal poker games on assigned shifts in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Create an atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock for gaming entertainment and mentor team members to provide superior guest service.
• Provide game security and protect company assets by facing games and reconstructing bets/situations when necessary.
• Handle all monies (bankrolls, payoffs, come and prop bets, making change and check handling) accurately.
• Verbalize all aspects of the game and answer questions about other games and the property.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Floor Supervisor, is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for the delivery of Customer Service standards, while maintaining the integrity of the games.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position

• Performs the functions of a Poker Dealer on an assigned shift.
• Responsible for dealing an assigned game in accordance with established policy and procedures.
• Creates an atmosphere for guests to make Hard Rock their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
• Provides game security and protects Company assets by always facing games and being able to recreate bets/situations when necessary.
• Responsible for handling all monies (bankrolls, payoffs, come and prop bets, making change and check handling) accurately in games.
• Able to verbalize all aspects of the game including answering questions regarding other games and the property.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Attend seminars when needed.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis

• High School Diploma required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.)

• Must be able to deal Poker with a high level of proficiency. Two years of Poker dealing experience preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
• Must successfully pass background check.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

KNOWLEDGE OF

• Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
• Hard Rock operations.
• Policies and procedures as well as knowledge of and ability to identify various cheating techniques.

ABILITY TO

• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
