Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Lab Coordinator to supervise Point-of-Care testing and ensure QA and regulatory compliance across FSER facilities. You will work with division leaders to monitor performance, training staff, and maintain documentation.

The role requires a 4-year biology/chemistry degree, plus a FL Supervisor license and 3 years in a clinical lab with QA/POC experience. Excellent collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree in a biologic or chemical science.
• 3 years of experience; 1–3 years in a clinical laboratory with QA/POC testing preferred.
• Supervisor’s License required (FL).
• Proficient with information system computer functions relative to job duties.
• Ability to interpret and correlate patient results with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer Point-of-Care testing under direction to meet patient care and regulatory requirements.
• Review proficiency testing and QA data; develop corrective actions with FSERs and POC departments.
• Maintain records for QA and point-of-care testing.
• Interpret patient results with independent judgment.
• Monitor licensure status and assist in preparing licensure paperwork (CAP, CLIA, AHCA).
• Prepare annual program for QA, QA and regulatory compliance.
