Job summary

The Point of Care (PoC) Coordinator supervises, establishes, and monitors PoC testing according to accepted Laboratory practices and regulations. The coordinator cooperates with internal and external customers.

They collaborate with other team members and disciplines to coordinate patient care. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience and 2 years in a clinical lab; ASCP certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years' work experience beyond minimum qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Current ASCP certifications preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Establishes testing and quality control procedures for all POC testing.
• Monitors the recording and reporting of test results across locations.
• Calibrates and standardizes POC instruments per guidelines.
• Assesses data needs, designs data collection procedures and QA monitors.
• Performs delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director.
