Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Colorado is seeking a Computer Design Technician to create digital prosthetic socket models using CAD software and prep them for additive manufacturing. You will build, modify, and repair CAD models, ensuring fit, function, cosmetics, and workmanship.

The Computer Design Technician utilizes Computer-Aided Design software to create digital models for fabrication of prosthetic sockets. The technician fabricates prosthetic sockets to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics, and workmanship and repairs the prosthetic devices as needed. They are expected to build a foundational understanding of additive manufacturing and clinical processes to support future learning and must be skilled in the use of appropriate computer equipment.

Your Impact
Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

The technical responsibilities of this role may include some or all of the following functions :

  • Execute organic, patient-specific CAD designs using established, documented workflows with a focus on diagnostic and basic definitive sockets.
  • Prepare and organize digital models for additive manufacturing, ensuring printability and structural integrity according to SOPS.
  • Export CAD files for 3D printing and maintain an organized digital archive of CAD files and design iterations.
  • Capture and process 3D scans of patient models, prosthetic components, and related objects.
  • Convert scan data into editable 3D models and ensure quality and proper alignment.
  • Work with mesh editing and sculpting software to optimize scanned data.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of prosthetic socket interfaces, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
  • Perform assembly of the final prosthesis.
  • Prepare 3D printers (FDM , MJF, and LPBF) for builds, and post-process jobs according to existing SOPs.
  • Create, modify, and duplicate plaster models.
  • Fabricate diagnostic and definitive rolled silicone sockets custom to each project.
  • Prepare and assemble prosthetic finger products following existing work instructions.
  • Safely pack and ship orders using appropriate materials.
  • Assist with R&D initiatives as needed.
General Responsibilities Include
  • Employ existing processes to accurately move a project through the fabrication workflow.
  • Communicate with team members on project design and troubleshooting to ensure seamless design-to-manufacturing integration.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Operate various equipment, machinery, and tools to construct prosthetic sockets and components.
  • Document work and maintain detailed logs.
  • Monitor job priorities, ensure they are all completed accurately
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Work under close supervision.
  • Perform other duties or special projects, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school program preferred, in CAD, drafting, art, or a related field.
  • 1 year of related experience preferred

Pay range of $19.23 -25.48 + bonus+ benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables
