Job summary

The Muscogee Creek Nation Department of Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide medical and administrative support to the medical staff in an ambulatory clinic in Coweta, OK.

Under supervision of Clinical Director/Physician, you will assist with patient care tasks, maintain accurate records, handle reception duties, and help with lab and clerical duties. A high school diploma and Medical Assistant training are required or preferred; BLS certification may be required within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or Vo-Tech training preferred.
• Experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Assists medical providers in direct patient care activities as directed.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of patients.
• Performs administrative duties, receives calls, and greets visitors professionally.
• Administers medications under medical staff direction from stock supplies.
• Performs diagnostic procedures such as vital signs and wound care.
• Makes follow-up calls to discuss results and coordinate referrals.
• Keeps clinic supplies and equipment reordering up to date.
• Reports equipment problems to the Clinical Director promptly.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as required.
