US Foot & Ankle Specialists is a growing podiatry practice seeking a Medical Assistant to join the team. You will work alongside our podiatrists, providing hands-on patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Training is provided to grow clinical skills.

The role emphasizes patient care, clinical support for procedures, and accurate documentation in the EMR, with opportunities to travel between local offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
