VA San Diego Healthcare System is seeking a Podiatrist to join our team at the VA San Diego Medical Center. The role involves in-patient rounds, operating room procedures, emergency podiatry, and collaboration with multiple clinical services.

Responsibilities include patient evaluations, treatment planning, supervision of students and residents, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Competitive federal benefits are included.

Formación

• Podiatrist must hold a valid, unrestricted license to practice in at least one US state.
• Experience with in-patient rounds, operating room procedures and emergency podiatry is desirable.
• Ability to supervise students and residents and to work with a range of clinical services.

Responsabilidades

• Apply podiatric medical and surgical theories and techniques to care for patients.
• Develop coherent treatment strategies and incorporate new clinical procedures.
• Supervise staff, including students and residents, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform initial evaluations, history and physicals, and admissions for podiatric patients; conduct OR and in-patient rounds.
• Provide education to patients about disease states and treatment options and obtain informed consent.
