Essen Health Care in New York is seeking a licensed Podiatry Physician (DPM) or MD/DO with podiatric scope to provide on-site podiatric care in SNF/LTC facilities.

The physician will diagnose and treat foot and ankle disorders, perform nail debridement, minor procedures, assess gait and mobility, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, educate residents and caregivers, and ensure compliant EMR documentation.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted New York State license.
  • DEA registration (if applicable).
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified (preferred).
  • Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program preferred.
  • Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site podiatry consultations in SNF/LTC settings.
  • Diagnose and manage foot and ankle disorders including diabetic foot disease, ulcers, infections, and nail pathology.
  • Perform podiatric procedures including nail debridement, callus care, wound debridement, and minor surgical procedures as indicated.
  • Evaluate gait abnormalities, biomechanical issues, and deformities impacting mobility and fall risk.
  • Collaborate with nursing, wound care teams, therapy, and primary providers to prevent complications.
  • Educate residents and caregivers on foot hygiene, preventive care, and footwear recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant documentation in EMR systems.

  • Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care settings preferred
