Job summary

Kintegra Health is seeking a compassionate Podiatrist to provide full-scope podiatry services just outside Charlotte. The role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and works with a Medical Assistant and the broader care team to deliver patient-centered, integrated foot and leg care, including prevention and chronic disease management such as diabetes.

Requirements include Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, active NC Podiatry license and DEA registration, CPR and required certifications within 30

Responsibilities

  • Review patients' medical history for conditions of the feet, ankle or lower leg.
  • Perform diagnosis through X-ray examination and lab tests.
  • Refer patients to other providers and specialists within the Kintegra team for conditions such as diabetes or arthritis.
  • Prescribe medication and/or administer treatment for foot conditions.
  • Direct and supervise the activities of the Medical Assistant.
  • Advise patients on recovery speed and prevention.

Job description

We are currently looking for a compassionate, mission-driven Podiatrist, just a stone's throw from Charlotte. This position will report to our Chief Medical Officer.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess critical‑thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, and provide the full scope of podiatry services following a patient‑centered and integrated approach. Podiatry services should include but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care and preventive care to patients with chronic disease (i.e. Diabetes Management).

Education

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine

Professional Licensure

Current valid/unrestricted NC Board of Podiatry Examiners License. Current valid/unrestricted DEA License

Certification(s)

North Carolina board

Minimum Requirements
  • Previous medical office or FQHC experience preferred.
  • CPR and all applicable certifications required (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Understands ethics of confidentiality.
  • Previous computer experience or training required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to TB testing and any vaccinations recommended by OSHA Guidelines.
  • Sets an example as a medical professional by observing work start and stop times, giving adequate notice for absences and following clinic’s operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Able to communicate and relate well with patients, providers and clinical staff.
  • Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding CME requirements.
  • Observes standards of medical care.
  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review patients’ medical history to evaluate the condition of the feet, ankle or lower leg.
  • Carry out diagnosis on the feet through X‑ray examination and medical laboratory tests.
  • Refer patients to other providers and specialists within the Kintegra team to treat conditions such as diabetes or arthritis.
  • Prescribe medication and/or administer treatment for certain feet conditions: Plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, corns/callouses, heel stress, athlete’s foot, among others.
  • Direct and supervise the activities of the Medical Assistant.
  • Advise patients on ways to increase speed of recovery and prevent future leg problems.
