Job summary

McLaren Health Management Group seeks a Point of Care Technical Consultant to oversee POCT activities and ensure regulatory compliance in non-laboratory areas. You will assess, develop, plan, coordinate, and document POCT processes, education, and ongoing functionality.

You will verify QC results, coordinate instrument selection and implementation, and provide on-site consultation as needed. Requires a science degree and MLS/MT certification with clinical internship completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution, with experience in non-waived testing.
  • MLS/MT (or MLT) certification required.
  • Completion of clinical internship.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between laboratory and non-laboratory units and physicians for training, certification and ongoing POCT performance.
  • Collaborates with lab, nursing and physicians to support patient outcomes.
  • Monitors reports and verifies manually reported results for accuracy and validity.
  • Maintains POCT software and connectivity, validates revisions, and troubleshoots issues.
  • Documents QC, calibration, maintenance, and conducts verification tests on new products.
