Job summary

Iridium is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the team developing a state-of-the-art satellite ground system and user equipment for the company’s PNT services. You will lead the design and architecture for PNT software products, partnering with technical leads and SMEs to shape the backlog and drive delivery.

The role is hands-on and requires strong software development skills, deep knowledge of Linux and modern languages, and a collaborative, agile mindset to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience developing software applications.
• 8+ years experience with Linux.
• 8+ years experience with modern programming languages, including C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with modern software architecture principles.
• Experience with unit testing.
• Familiarity with RTOS or bare-metal for embedded development.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum processes (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Proficiency with continuous integration and Git.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of PNT software products.
• Define and maintain the product backlog with technical leads and SMEs.
• Decompose user stories into detailed tasks and drive delivery with the team.
• Develop software, run unit tests, and perform integration activities.
• Apply best practices to ensure code quality and reliability.
