Responsibilities

  • Read and follow blueprints, shop orders, and specifications to build and assemble parts and equipment.
  • Install magnehelic components and transducers with related plumbing.
  • Assemble and install cable, wire, and pneumatic tubing/hosing management devices.
  • Assemble and install pneumatic and hydraulic control boxes.
  • Install tubing, components and routes on equipment.
  • Sub-assemble pneumatic, hydraulic, grease and oiler components.
  • Operate material handling equipment.
  • Travel as required.
  • Utilize overhead crane and rigging procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area.

The Pneumatic Assembler is responsible for pneumatic plumbing/piping, assembling, testing, completing, and installing paper converting machinery.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Reads and follows entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Install magnehelic components and transducers with related plumbing.
  • Assemble and install cable, wire, and pneumatic tubing/ hose management devices, such as cable tray, conduit, and wire way.
  • Assemble and install pneumatic and hydraulic control boxes.
  • Install route and terminate pneumatic, hydraulic, grease and oiler tubing/ hoses components on equipment.
  • Sub-assemble pneumatic, hydraulic, grease and oiler components.
  • Operate material handling equipment.
  • Travel preferred.
  • Utilize overhead crane and rigging procedures.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
Occasional Job Responsibilities:
  • Department clean up and improvement projects.
Job Requirements:
  • Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and do metric system conversions.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics, electrical code manuals, and other manufacturing instructions preferred.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop solutions.

  • The incumbent will utilize all PPE (i.e., Safety glasses, gloves, shoes, and hearing protection) while performing the duties of this position when needed.

Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • During the performance of the duties, the incumbent will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and will regularly lift up to 25 pounds such as making panel installations.
Tools/Equipment Utilized:
  • During the performance of their duties, the employee will utilize hand tools, electrically powered tools, electrical testing equipment, a forklift, overhead crane, a computer and printer, machine operating software, pneumatic tools, label software, spreadsheet software, phone, and copy machines.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee works in a production environment where the noise level is loud but can be very loud at times hearing protection is required. Occasional travel for company business will be required.
