Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate moderately complex pharmaceutical programs in a hybrid work setting. You will manage schedules, budgets and cross-functional teams to drive timely delivery of improvements and innovations.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset to navigate non-standard situations and ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS with 4+ years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 2 years of experience or PhD/JD with any years of experience or associate's degree with at least 8 years of experience
  • Experience in commercial/customer-facing roles across the business
  • Experience leading and coordinating technical transfer projects and work packages
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and associated processes
  • Experience managing integrated project schedules and milestones, risks, issues and dependencies
  • Experience leading cross-functional team meetings and driving accountability

What You Will Achieve
  • Lead or co-lead moderately complex projects, effectively managing time and resources

  • Operate independently in ambiguous situations and determine objectives of assignments
  • Review your own work and seek directional review from others, potentially reviewing colleagues' work in a mentor role
  • Oversee operational aspects of ongoing improvement projects, acting as a liaison between Project Team and Line Management
  • Support programs by reviewing project status, budgets, schedules, and preparing comprehensive status reports
  • Identify project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals
  • Guide operational teams in managing projects, forecasting resource requirements, and identifying areas for improvement in products, processes, or services
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
  • BA/BS with at least 4 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 2 years of experience or PhD/JD with any years of experience or associate's degree with at least 8 years of experience or high School Diploma (or Equivalent) with at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial/customer-facing roles across the business
  • Experience in leading and coordinating assigned technical transfer projects and work packages.
  • Knowledge of the workings of pharmaceutical manufacturing and associated processes
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and proactively managing integrated project schedules and monitoring project milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Experience in cross-functional team meeting management and driving accountability for deliverables.
  • Experience working in Pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment
  • Familiarity with Pharmaceutical Sciences infrastructure
  • Proactive and has a creative entrepreneurial attitude with evidence of ability to execute key projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and software applications
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
  • Master's degree with specific experience in managing pharmaceutical, technical, or medical device projects and clinical programs
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on project management experience preferably in a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment with demonstrated experience in project management and cross‑functional leadership.
  • Knowledge and certification in project management methodologies
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional team environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes in business strategies and operational imperatives
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior colleagues
  • Proficiency with project management platforms and tools (e.g., MS Project, Planner).
  • Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, or walking.
  • Ability to write general correspondence, technical reports, perform mathematical calculations, data analysis, problem solving.
  • Ability to remain organized and positive in ambiguous and rapidly changing situations.
  • Ability to analyze data from detailed schedule and risk management tools.
  • Interface effectively with multiple stakeholder groups.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Limited travel required.
  • Non-standard work hours, support of global conference calls, 24/7 manufacturing, etc. required when needed, though not typical of weekly requirements.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,200.00 to $165,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
