Job summary

American Fidelity Assurance Company is seeking an on-site Project Portfolio Manager to set the strategic vision for the PM function and drive execution across software development projects in our portfolio.

You will staff projects using resource management and capacity planning, lead portfolio prioritization, and apply AI tools within governance policies to improve delivery efficiency and project health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Industrial Engineering or Computer Science; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years experience in Project Management, Business Analysis and Enterprise Architecture.
• Proven ability to lead in a matrix organization with senior stakeholder communication.

Job description

This is an on-site position, 4-5 days per week. Set strategic vision for and drive successful execution of plans and tactics to achieve the vision for the Project Management function. ensure collaborative usage of appropriate Resource Management & Capacity Planning tactics to staff our software development projects within our portfolio. Drive and facilitate all functions, standards and processes related to the Enterprise Project Portfolio Prioritization process and other Project Portfolio Management (PPM) groups Consistently apply department-mandated AI tools and practices to enhance efficiency in project delivery while complying with organizational AI governance, security, and data usage policies. Have working knowledge of all of the projects within the portfolio with the ability to communicate status and project health to stakeholders. The ability to proactively troubleshoot with project teams and project managers to keep projects in green status or return them to green in a timely manner.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in MIS, Industrial Engineering or Computer Science; Master's degree preferred Real, meaningful and applicable work experience with Project Management, Business Analysis and Enterprise Architecture could be accepted in lieu of specific education requirements listed above. 10+ years experience
