Job summary

Blue Ridge Health in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Behavioral Health team for outpatient care. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and provide medical supervision including psychotherapy.

Candidates must be a licensed RN with a Master’s in PMH nursing and NC NP certification, with ambulatory care experience and active CME/BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Master’s Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
• Certification in NC as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience in an ambulatory care setting.
• Maintain current CME and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe psychiatric medications and provide medication evaluations and management.
• Provide medical supervision, including psychotherapy, of patients and clients.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations.
• Document each patient encounter in the patient record on the day of the encounter.
• Ensure notes are cosigned in a timely fashion according to NC regulations and BRCHS policy.
• Follow patient protocols as specified by BRCHS clinical policies and consult backup physician when appropriate.
• Educate individuals regarding the appropriate use of medications and their side effects.
• Prescribe, manage and monitor medications for BRCHS patients.
