WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, SC, is looking for a PM Traffic/Breaking News Reporter. The ideal candidate will have journalism experience and strong storytelling skills, ensuring the delivery of engaging traffic reports and updates.

Qualifications

Local News Traffic Anchor Reporter

WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, SC, is now hiring a PM Traffic / Breaking News Reporter. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on‑air presence and engagement skills. We want someone who can captivate our viewers on social media and a journalist who will grow this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare afternoon/evening report with dynamic graphics
• Gather news for traffic reports
• Provide concise live traffic reports for afternoon/evening shows
• Research and report up‑to‑the‑minute traffic conditions
• Communicate important traffic information to the show producers and anchors promptly
• Ensure corresponding graphics, video and live shots are used accurately
• Convey afternoon/evening traffic information to viewers through digital platforms including the station website, mobile app, and social media pages
• Produce transportation‑related stories and present traffic information in the field
• Produce and anchor breaking news updates through the morning newscast, at the direction of news management

Qualifications

• Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station
• Experience using traffic systems preferred
• Ability to ad‑lib in breaking news situations
• Clear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social media
• Familiar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learn
• Must be creative and work well with others
• Related military experience will be considered
