Job summary

TICO, an equipment logistics solutions company, invites qualified candidates for a Preventive Maintenance Technician position at our Charleston, SC location. You will perform preventive maintenance inspections, minor repairs, and ensure equipment safety and proper documentation.

Requirements include at least one year of automotive/truck/equipment maintenance or accredited vocational school, a valid driver's license, owning tools, and passing a drug test.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of automotive/truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience, or completion of an accredited vocational/technical school program.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must have own tools.
• Drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections per TICO policy.
• Complete minor repairs to hydraulic systems, drive train, and cab chassis (belts, hoses, U joints, air lines, etc.).
• Document repairs, parts usage, and repair times using fleet maintenance software.
• Perform routine oil changes and lubrication per schedule.
• Carry out minor replacements, repairs, and adjustments as needed.
• Work safely following OSHA and company standards.
• Operate units to verify conformance to specifications.
• Submit all job completion paperwork to Shop Manager.

Preventive Maintenance Technician

TICO is an equipment logistics solutions company that has been in business since 1946. While based out of Savannah, TICO has locations throughout the coast and interior United States. TICO owns and operates over 1500 Jockey Trucks/Terminal Tractors and 800 plus specialty trailers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventative maintenance Inspections in accordance with TICO policy.
• Ability to complete minor repairs to hydraulic system components, drive train, cab chassis etc. (i.e. replace belts, hoses, u joints, air lines etc.).
• Completes required documentation using the fleet maintenance software program, ensuring accurate information is captured on vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
• Perform routine oil changes and parts lubrication per specified schedule.
• Perform minor replacements, repairs, and adjustments as needed.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Company standards.
• Operate unit to verify conformance to specifications.
• Detect unusual noises while operating equipment.
• Submit required job completion paperwork to Shop Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of one year’s experience in automotive/truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair or completion of accredited vocational technical school program.
• Valid drivers' license
• Must have own tools.
• Drug test required.
