Job description

The Project Manager position will be responsible for managing Network Services projects through all phases of the project management lifecycle involving technical design, hardware, software, configuration, security, implementation, and deployment elements. The project will involve, but not be limited to: switch and router configuration and implementation; WiFi optimization, expansion, and implementation; and other network projects. The Project Manager position will report to the Network Services Director or other senior member of the Converged Services team.

High-level responsibilities may include:

  1. Manage all phases of Network Information Technology (IT) projects through all phases of the project management lifecycle involving technical design, hardware, software, configuration, security, implementation, and deployment elements.
  2. Follow standard project management lifecycle and IT industry practices regarding business and technical objectives, solution design, development, and deployment as well as scope, quality, risk, issue, change, communications, stakeholder, and vendor management.
  3. Develop all project management deliverables and project artifacts required for the projects.
  4. Build and lead technical and business teams that span multiple disciplines and agencies, keeping them focused and managing schedule and scope.
  5. Achieve project results on schedule, at or below budget, and at or above quality requirements within a complex, resource-constrained enterprise with competing and conflicting business and technical priorities and requirements, including both legacy and current state-of-the-art technology and processes.
  6. Keep the Director and stakeholders informed of project status – schedule, scope, quality, and cost.
  7. Establish timeline and resource requirements for successful execution of the project.
  8. Coordinate with key stakeholders and sponsors to obtain approval of resources and timeline.
  9. Work with various IT and business stakeholder areas to ensure that project deliverables are compliant with state, federal, and other applicable agency standards.
  10. Identify risks and coordinate resolution with project leadership.
  11. Provide both technical and project thought leadership.
  12. Apply experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  13. All other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 10 Years Experience required in each of the following:
  2. Information Technology industry
  3. MS Project, MS Office, Visio, and status reporting tools.
  4. Effective general written/oral communication, including documenting deliverables and project status.
  5. Managing IT projects
  6. Experience in IT infrastructure environments and implementation/deployment projects
  7. Managing large-scale projects implementing network infrastructure components.
  8. Preferably Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
