Job summary

Great Western Dining Service, Inc. is seeking a reliable cook to contribute to our school and campus dining operations in Kansas City, MO. This full-time role focuses on food preparation, safe handling, and delivering appealing plates in a team environment.

You will set up stations with ingredients and equipment, follow recipes, portion and cook meals for various service periods or events, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen while adhering to HACCP and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.).
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat).
• Prepare, portion, and cook food items for various meal periods or special events.
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies.
