Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

What this job involves:
  • As Commercial Plumbing Team Chief Technician, you'll serve as both a senior technical leader and master-level practitioner, overseeing complex commercial and industrial plumbing operations that keep JLL's client facilities running smoothly.
  • This critical role combines advanced hands-on expertise in large-scale mechanical systems with team leadership, mentoring the next generation of skilled technicians while ensuring projects meet rigorous quality, safety, and timeline standards.
  • You’ll bridge the gap between field execution and strategic project management, working directly with general contractors, engineers, and building inspectors to deliver exceptional results on high-profile commercial construction and service projects.
  • Your technical mastery and leadership will directly contribute to JLL's reputation for operational excellence and client satisfaction across commercial real estate portfolios.
What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead and supervise a team of commercial plumbing technicians and apprentices by assigning daily work schedules, coordinating job site placements, and managing project milestones to ensure optimal productivity and on-time delivery.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install complex commercial plumbing systems including high-rise drainage, industrial water heaters, commercial boilers, grease traps, backflow preventers, and medical gas lines across diverse commercial facilities.
  • Interpret and work from complex blueprints, architectural drawings, and mechanical schematics to plan installations, modify commercial layouts, and ensure precise execution of technical specifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive field inspections and quality assurance checks to verify all installations strictly comply with local commercial plumbing codes, building regulations, and JLL quality standards.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, engineers, and building inspectors to coordinate project activities, review change orders, document variations, and maintain clear communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and jobsite safety protocols by leading safety meetings, conducting toolbox talks, performing hazard assessments, and ensuring proper PPE utilization across all commercial and industrial work environments.
  • Manage operational logistics including material procurement, specialized equipment rentals, inventory control for the commercial fleet, and assist with estimating labor and material costs for large-scale project bids.
Required Qualifications:
  • Current, valid Journeyman Plumbing License (state-specific) with ability to work independently on commercial projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable commercial or industrial field plumbing experience working on large-scale mechanical systems and infrastructure.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory, foreman, or lead technician role managing teams and coordinating jobsite operations.
  • Expert-level technical knowledge of heavy commercial plumbing systems, pipe fitting, brazing, and joining industrial materials including iron, copper, schedule 80 PVC, and stainless steel.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate commercial service vehicles and travel to multiple job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master Plumber License demonstrating advanced technical expertise and regulatory knowledge.
  • Backflow prevention certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first 90 days.
  • Familiarity with digital construction plan software such as Bluebeam or similar blueprint management tools.
  • Experience with commercial dispatch or project management software platforms including ServiceTitan, Procore, or equivalent systems.
  • Physical capability to lift and move heavy equipment up to 75 lbs independently and comfort working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts.
  • Flexibility for project-driven overtime schedules and occasional off-hours work during commercial facility shutdowns.
