Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking a highly skilled plumbing professional to maintain and repair all plumbing systems across our facilities, ensuring compliance with NSF, ADA and state codes. The role focuses on industrial and commercial plumbing in a fast-paced theme-park environment.

You will diagnose and fix water, gas and boiler systems, coordinate with contractors and stay current with safety procedures and certifications required by the park.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in industrial and commercial plumbing maintenance or related field.
  • Experience in a fast-paced service environment; theme park experience preferred.
  • 1+ year in theme park industry preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair all Universal Orlando plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with NSF, ADA and state codes.
  • Interface with contractors and code enforcement agencies.
  • Service infrastructure including sanitary lines, grease lines, oil lines, grease traps, interceptors, pumps and controllers.
  • Operate sewer jetting equipment and large cable machines.
  • Service natural gas systems and boiler piping; perform tests and maintain safety controls.
  • Maintain water-based fire protection systems and associated safety devices.
  • Adhere to environmental, health & safety responsibilities and park policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing the highly skilled, discipline‑specific tasks required to ensure the smooth operation of Universal Orlando Facilities as it pertains to all industrial, commercial and non‑commercial plumbing equipment, utilities and infrastructure.

Major Responsibilities
  • Service and repair all UO plumbing systems, including, but not limited to: water closets; urinals; sinks; faucets; drinking fountains; water softeners; water heaters; steam effect boilers; potable backflow preventers; circulating pumps; tempering valves; mixing valves; high pressure fog/mist lines; nozzles and pumps and all related potable water and piping assets by complying with all NSF, ADA and State Plumbing codes and regulations. Interface with contractors and code enforcement agencies.
  • Service all UO infrastructure, including, but not limited to: sanitary lines; grease lines; oil lines; grease traps; interceptors, lift station pumps and controllers/PLC. Operate large cable commercial sewer machines and high‑pressure line jetting equipment.
  • Service all UO natural gas systems, including, but not limited to, all above ground and below ground pipes, valves and fittings.
  • Service all steam boilers and piping. Perform daily water conductivity tests on boiler feed water. Maintain all flame, water, natural gas and pressure controls as well as all other safety devices. Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting efforts through the onboard boiler PLC HMI. Service all makeup water feed pumps and associated piping.
  • Service all water‑based fire protection systems, including, but not limited to: all fire hydrants; fire sprinkler systems; fire pumps; industrial backflow preventers and all related fire infrastructure.
  • Understands and actively participates in environmental, health & safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Technical school is preferred.
  • Associate degree (AA) is preferred.
Experience
  • 6+ equivalent years in industrial and commercial construction, maintenance facility or a fast paced service company dedicated to plumbing repair is required.
  • 1+ year in theme park industry is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
  • A valid Florida Driver’s License is mandatory for the operation of company vehicles.
  • Additionally, a Journeyman, Contractor, or Masters license with a minimum of 8,000 hours of relevant job experience that is issued by a municipality, city, county or state for the MEP trades is required.
  • A current Backflow Test and Repair certification or current Midwest Energy Association (MEA) and updated Operator Qualifications (OQ) certification are required within 6 months.
