Job summary

Southern Mechanical is seeking a skilled Plumbing Journeyman to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. You will perform installations, repairs, maintenance, and service for multi-family and commercial customers, both independently and with the team.

We offer a strong benefits package and a competitive hourly wage of $35–$45, depending on experience, along with medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and PTO.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of plumbing experience preferred.
• Journeyman plumbing experience required.
• EPA certification preferred/ required as applicable to the position.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing installations, repairs, maintenance, and service calls.
• Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret plumbing plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers and explain plumbing issues and recommended solutions in easy-to-understand terms.
• Build positive customer relationships and identify appropriate products and services based on customer needs.
• Work closely with customer service representatives, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Train and mentor plumbing helpers and less-experienced team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Maintain an organized and properly stocked company vehicle.
• Complete service documentation, paperwork, and job records accurately and on time.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do:
