Job summary

Cape Fear Community College in Surf City, NC seeks an instructor to provide classroom and lab instruction in plumbing/pipefitting for Economic & Workforce Development. Classes are held in the evenings at the Surf City Center, with syllabus development, assessments and online components.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, NC plumbing license, and at least 3 years hands-on plumbing/pipefitting experience, plus willingness to teach online techniques.

Qualifications

• Classroom and laboratory instructional techniques and procedures.

• Current trends, research and development in the area of assignment.
• Principles and techniques involved in test development and administration.
• Expertise and code knowledge in the plumbing/pipefitting field.
• Math and science related to plumbing/pipefiting.

Responsibilities

• Follow college policies and procedures and ensure adherence by students.
• Provide classroom instruction to students.
• Prepare course syllabus in accordance with the NC Combined Course Library, lesson plans and schedule classroom activities.
• Maintain an online classroom. Training will be provided.
• Develop supplemental materials and/or visual aides to enhance textbook learning.
• Participate in curriculum development, evaluation and changes as needed.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records, and performance.
• Remain current through certifying organizations in the trade pertaining to the classes taught.
