Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction seeks a Plumbing Inspector to protect the lives and property of the Commonwealth. You will inspect plumbing installations, perform preliminary plan reviews, maintain files and issue permits electronically.

Travel for inspections is required. Minimum eight years as a journeyman or master plumber with a Kentucky license are required. This Executive Branch, full-time role includes overtime eligibility and benefits.

Qualifications

• Eight years experience as a journeyman or master plumber.
• Must hold valid journeyman or master plumber license in Kentucky at time of employment.
• Travel required for inspections.
• Proficient communication and customer service.
• Knowledge of Kentucky State Plumbing Law, Regulations and Code.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all plumbing installations and report violation findings.
• Perform preliminary reviews of local plans concerning plumbing and sanitation.
• Maintain files, reports, and permits.
• Issue permits electronically and process payments.
• Monitor licensee statuses and water heater device reporting.
