Job summary

IES is recruiting a Plumbing Foreman for on-site Columbus, OH operations. The role supports operational excellence, ensures high-quality standards, and collaborates with internal teams, customers, vendors, and field personnel.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of plumbing foreman experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and with teams in a fast-paced environment. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 4–6 years of plumbing foreman/field supervision experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Certifications or licenses relevant to the role are preferred where required to perform duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned duties in support of department and company objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with policies, safety standards, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, customers, subcontractors, and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain records, documentation, and reporting for assigned duties.
  • Support process improvement and operational efficiency efforts.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, in writing and verbally.
  • Assist leadership and team members with daily operational activities.
  • Ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned duties and responsibilities in support of departmental and company objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience related to Plumbing Foreman responsibilities preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit, stand, walk, and computer use.
  • Hand movements, including typing and equipment operation.
  • Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
  • Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
  • Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
  • Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
