General Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated plumbing foreman to lead field crews and manage day‑to‑day operations for plumbing installations in residential construction throughout the Columbus area. The role requires hands‑on supervision, coordination with project managers, and quality assurance from rough‑in through final inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise plumbing crews on active job sites, assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and ensuring adherence to schedules and installation standards.
- Promote a safe, professional, and team‑oriented work environment.
- Work closely with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to maintain efficient workflow, interpreting blueprints, specifications, isometric drawings, and scope documents.
- Ensure all plumbing systems meet plans, local Ohio plumbing codes, and company standards.
- Conduct regular site walkthroughs to confirm work quality and code compliance, prepare sites for municipal and third‑party inspections, and troubleshoot on‑site issues.
- Coordinate delivery and staging of materials, tools, and equipment; track project progress to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Keep detailed records of job site activity, inspections, safety logs, and provide updates on progress, delays, and change orders.
Minimum Education & Experience
Education: None.
Experience: 4–6 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Specific Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong knowledge of Ohio plumbing codes, systems, and best practices.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specification sheets.
- Skilled in coordinating labor, managing schedules, and inspecting installations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Perform physical labor in varying conditions.
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, and weather‑exposed environments.
- Stand, walk, climb ladders, and access tight spaces for extended periods.
- Travel between multiple job sites as needed.
Work Environment
Operation primarily on active residential construction sites throughout Columbus, Ohio. Exposure to construction noise, dust, uneven terrain, and weather conditions. Must interact with field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and project managers.
