Job summary

Peter Basso Associates is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our employee-owned firm. You will design plumbing systems for education, healthcare, research, institutional, multi-family, and mixed-use projects, collaborating with architects, contractors, and owners from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems for multiple markets (education, healthcare, research, institutional, multi-family, mixed-use).
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and facility owners throughout projects.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project milestones.

What You Will Do:

As a plumbing engineer at Peter Basso Associates, you’ll join project teams working with top architects, contractors, and facility owners across diverse markets - education, healthcare, research, institutional, multi-family, and mixed-use. You'll apply creative solutions to complex challenges and contribute to projects from concept through construction.

We are seeking well-rounded professionals who:

• Have experience in plumbing system design, including domestic hot and cold water; sanitary waste and vent; storm water; various specialty systems.
• Collaborate across disciplines to drive project success
• Develop practical solutions using strong problem-solving skills
• Use BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit) to ensure quality and efficiency
• Manage multiple projects, milestones, and deadlines
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients
• Mentor and delegate to support team growth
• Balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail
• Embrace continuous learning and professional development

Qualifications:

• 5 to 15years of experience in plumbing system engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Self-driven, adaptable, and team-oriented
