Job summary

Metric DCX, a national MEP consulting engineering firm, seeks an engineer to design plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, laboratory, and institutional facilities. You will develop fire suppression layouts, perform hydraulic calculations, and prepare drawings, specifications, and reports.

The role includes field investigations, coordination with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams, and supporting construction administration to meet project

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, laboratory, and institutional facilities.
• Develop fire suppression system layouts and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and design documentation.
• Perform field investigations, site visits, and existing condition assessments for renovation and expansion projects.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams throughout project development.
• Review project deliverables for quality and technical accuracy.
• Participate in client meetings and maintain relationships with owners, architects, and contractors.
• Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field observations.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure project deadlines are met.
