Job summary

Lavender, Inc. in Northport, AL is hiring a Plumbing Assistant Project Manager to join our plumbing division in a full-time role.

You will assist with estimating, procurement, and coordinating projects, gaining exposure to plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems alongside seasoned estimators and managers. The position emphasizes developing project management, budgeting, and procurement knowledge in a hands-on environment within the construction industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with estimating, bidding, and preparing proposals for plumbing and mechanical construction projects.
• Support project managers and estimators with day-to-day project coordination and administrative responsibilities.
• Assist with procurement, material purchasing, subcontractor coordination, and vendor communications.
• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to support estimating and project execution.
• Track project information, documentation, schedules, materials, and costs.
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal team members to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with resolving project-related issues.
• Conduct occasional jobsite visits to observe construction progress, coordinate with field personnel, and gain hands-on knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

NOW HIRING PLUMBING ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER!

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Plumbing division in a full-time role supporting plumbing with possible exposure to HVAC and mechanical construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced estimators and project managers while developing a strong understanding of the business, operational, and project management aspects of the construction industry.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in construction management, operations, engineering, or the mechanical trades and be eager to contribute to projects from the estimating and procurement stages through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with estimating, bidding, and preparing proposals for plumbing and mechanical construction projects.

Support project managers and estimators with day-to-day project coordination and administrative responsibilities.

Assist with procurement, material purchasing, subcontractor coordination, and vendor communications.

Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to support estimating and project execution.

Track project information, documentation, schedules, materials, and costs.

Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal team members to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Participate in project meetings and assist with resolving project-related issues.

Conduct occasional jobsite visits to observe construction progress, coordinate with field personnel, and gain hands‑on knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

Develop an understanding of construction processes, project financials, estimating practices, and overall business operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical contracting, estimating, or project management is a plus.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn industry-specific software and systems.

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.

Willingness to occasionally visit active construction jobsites.

A strong work ethic, professional attitude, and desire to learn and grow within the construction industry.
