Midwestern Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to assist Journeymen and Foremen in the assembly, fabrication, installation, and repair of plumbing, water flow, and drainage systems in accordance with codes.

You will complete the apprenticeship to become a skilled Journeyman plumber while delivering high-quality work under supervision. The role emphasizes safety, on-time performance, and customer relations, with the potential to grow within a 100% employee-owned company that values

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plumbing systems.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Good communication skills with management, city officials, on-site customers and other employees.
• Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Dependable and punctual in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interpret written materials.
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating materials.
• Maintain an active state and city license in all cities/states where you perform work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work assigned by the job Foreman or Journeymen.
• Assist in assembly, fabrication, installation and repair of plumbing, water flow and drainage systems.
• Deliver high quality work and complete apprenticeship training to become a Journeyman plumber.
• Perform work safely and abide by safety, conduct and quality policies.
• Work under direct supervision and strive to work independently on commercial plumbing tasks.
• Repair various types of pipes including iron, steel, copper and PVC.
• Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify issues.
• Operate powered equipment and tools as required.
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
• Test for leaks in new and repaired systems.
