Job summary

Fifco-USA in Rochester, NY is seeking a Plumber to join the Maintenance – Plumbing team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing and preventing issues across brewery equipment including pipes, pumps and tanks.

The position is full-time, union, non-exempt and offers 40 hours per week with possible overtime to support production. Applicants should have an apprentice program or equivalent and basic MS Office and maintenance software experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of apprentice program or equivalent demonstrated skill level.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.
  • Some experience or expertise in mechanical, HVAC equipment and process controls is preferred.
  • Welding certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Pipefitter to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install and make improvements on beverage processing equipment and building services (includes process piping, building service piping, pneumatics, and hydraulics)
  • Fitting / Welding piping systems including process piping, stainless sanitary tube (TIG), carbon steel.
  • Fitting and assembly of PVC, Copper, DWV piping systems
  • Ability to achieve a high level of process expertise to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment, including root cause analysis.
  • Includes maintenance of steam traps, specialized valves, filtration systems, and other specialized equipment.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain a clean work area and always operate in a safe manner.
  • Good communication skills – daily communications with leaders, maintenance planner, technical staff, engineering and operations as needed.
  • Acts as a team player – willing be flexible, often work in other areas and with other trades as needed to support maintenance team.
  • Maintains an excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all work
  • Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Reads pipe and machine drawings
  • Understands piping codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)

Job Type:Non-Exempt, Union

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days (40 hours/week). Ability to work some overtime, as needed, to support production.

Position Objective

The Plumber, part of the Maintenance Department, is responsible for general troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of brewery equipment such as pipes, pumps, tanks, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

  • Significant walking, climbing stairs or other means of mobility.

  • Ability to work off of ladders or scaffolding, and in awkward positions
  • Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or government regulations.

Pay Rate: $32.76 – 39.27/hour, depending on qualifications and experience. The reference pay range represents step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
