Position Summary

The Plumber provides all services to maintain, repair, install, and replace all piping, fixtures, and drains associated with the plumbing and heating systems of Temple University and Temple University Hospital. The incumbent is responsible for inspecting, installing, repairing, and replacing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain heating, water, gas, and drainage systems for all campus locations. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have a valid US driver's license or the ability to obtain one if hired.

  • Technical School certificate.
  • A Philadelphia Journeyman Plumber's license and five (5) years of recent commercial plumbing experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to be a team player and work towards common goals in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Capable of prioritizing urgent projects and working in a fast‑paced and challenging work environment.
  • Capacity to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of all aspects of the plumbing trade, including boiler and HVAC repair and installation.
  • Technical ability in the following areas: electrical, building systems, carpentry, and motor and pump alignment.
