Job summary

UMass Memorial Health - Milford Regional Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a skilled plumber to assemble, install, and repair piping systems for heating, water, and drainage.

The role requires completing building plans, performing pipe installations, and joining piping components with appropriate methods. The position is on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule, on-call required, 7:00am–3:30pm, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years related plumbing experience and/or training required.
• MA Plumber Journeyman License required.
• On-call rotation required.

Responsibilities

• Study building plans and drawings to determine work aids and installation sequence.
• Locate and mark position of pipe and pipe connections for installations.
• Cut openings in walls/floors to accommodate pipes and fittings.
• Cut and thread pipe.
• Join pipes by screws, bolts, fittings, solder, solvent, and caulks joints.

Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.

II. Major Responsibilities:

• 1. Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
• 2. Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
• 3. Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• 4. Cuts and threads pipe.
• 5. Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.

III. Position Qualifications:

• License/Certification/Education: Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• MA Plumber Journeyman License Experience/Skills: Required: Three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• On-call rotation required with this position
