CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation's Folsom State Prison in Sacramento County is seeking a Plumber II (Correctional Facility) for a 12-month limited-term, full-time assignment. Under supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades, you will repair and provide preventive maintenance to the prison's plumbing systems and fixtures.
This in-office position offers a salary range of $6,291.00 to $7,547.00 per month, a 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM shift, and a Monday–Friday work week.
Limited Term/12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
Newly hired State employees may be placed at the minimum of the salary range. Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employee may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades, and with direction from a Plumber III, the Plumber II repairs and provides preventive maintenance to plumbing systems and fixtures throughout Folsom State Prison.

Folsom State Prison is located approximately 30 miles east of downtown Sacramento and just minutes from old town Folsom.
The grounds of the prison are surrounded by beautiful landscaping and friendly wild animals (deer, squirrels, turkeys, geese, etc.).
