Job summary

Onslow County Public Schools in Jacksonville, North Carolina seeks a Plumber I to maintain, repair, and install water and waste systems across its facilities. This role reports to the Maintenance Director and requires a journeyman-level plumbing background with the ability to read blueprints and work outdoors or indoors under varying conditions.

Qualified candidates must have at least five years’ plumbing experience and a high school diploma; NC Class I license preferred.

Qualifications

• At least five years experience in the plumbing trade as a journeyman.
• NC Plumbing Class I Contractor License preferred.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Measures, cuts, threads, assembles, and installs pipes and tubing.
• Connects valves and joints, caulks, and tests finished job by water flow.
• Installs water and sanitary fixtures with supports or foundations.
• Eliminates leaks by repacking valves or replacing faulty fittings.
• Replaces worn parts; reads blueprints.
• Performs other duties as needed and adheres to procedures.
