Plumber I

Permanent full‑time position in the Facility Operations Department, reporting to the Plumbing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair plumbing equipment related to water, gas, oil, sewer, and fire control.
• Apply construction and general safety orders of the Division of Industrial Safety along with plumbing and building codes.
• Troubleshoot plumbing systems.
• Use principles, methods, materials, tools, and equipment common to the plumbing industry.
• Maintain and adhere to tool‑control policy and procedures.
• Keep accurate record‑keeping.
• Read blueprints, work from plans and specifications, prepare rough sketches for minor installations, and estimate material and labor costs.
• Adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
• Apply building, construction, and safety codes applicable to plumbing.
• Possess the ability to bend, reach, and climb stairs, slopes, and inclines.
• Work at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions.
