Job summary

Service Experts Heating & AC LLC is seeking a plumbing helper to assist in the assembly, installation, and repair of heating and plumbing systems under direct supervision. You will support the Journeyman Plumber by maintaining piping, testing for leaks, cutting and fitting pipes, and helping with underground water lines while upholding safety and customer service standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, valid driver's license, and willingness to work

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with plumbing-related training or experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to operate plumbing tools.
  • Math skills for basic calculations and measurements.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot plumbing systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman Plumber in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems.
  • Replace defective washers and pipes, repair drains.
  • Assemble pipe sections and fittings using basic tools.
  • Test joints for leaks and ensure safety compliance.
  • Maintain company property and professional conduct.

Welcome!Under direct supervision, assists in the assembly, installation, or repair of pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems in accordance to specifications and plumbing codes. Works under the direction of the Journeyman Plumber.Key Responsibilities:Assists the Journeyman Plumber in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems carrying water, steam, chemicals and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drainsUnder direction supervision, may repair or replace plumbing fixtures; test joints and pipe systems for leaks, open clogged drains, measure, cut, thread, bend, ream and install pipe and pipe fittingsAs directed, assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipmentCuts openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings, using hand or power toolsMeasures, cuts, threads, or bends pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machinesAs directed, installs underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbingIn conjunction with the Journeyman Plumber, ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being used, maintained and properly accounted forRepresents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and activitiesPerforms similar/other duties as needed or assignedRegular, reliable attendanceHealth & Safety Roles & Responsibilities:Reports any unsafe acts, conditions and hazards to direct supervisor/manager immediatelyReports any contravention of legislation or company policy, procedure oor program to direct supervisor/manager immediatelyCorrects substandard acts or conditions within area of controlUses and maintains appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)Never removes or renders ineffective any safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed to be in place or wornComplies with the general rules as prescribed by company program(s) procedure(s)Operates devises or equipment as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)Participates in any safety initiatives, teams, or committeesReports all injuries or incidents as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) immediatelyProvides input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposures that could cause accidentsQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent with training or experience in construction trades with a preference for plumbing system workDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipmentProficient and able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various plumbing projectsWorking proficiency in basic mathematics and metric and standard measurementsAbility to reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with plumbing systems and equipmentFamiliar with the HVAC industry is preferredEffective communication skills to communicate with customer and resolve customer issues, complaints, or concernsEffective and efficient time-management and organizational skillsValid driver’s license with acceptable driving recordAvailable to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as neededAbility to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
