Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation seeks a skilled Plumber to assemble, install, and repair pipe, fittings, and fixtures for hot and cold water and drainage; service and maintain backflow prevention devices.

Work can be indoors or outdoors, on various surfaces, with occasional confined spaces and exposure to weather. Requires five years as Journeyman, valid driver’s license, respirator fit test, and ability to read/write English.

Preferred: high school diploma, soldering/brazing experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass respirator fit test requirements per 29 CFR 1910.134.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain Flight line driving permit.
• Five years’ experience at Journeyman plumber level.
• General knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Team player; ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English to an eighth grade level for safety warnings.

Responsibilities

Description

The Plumber will assemble, install, and repair pipe, fittings, and fixtures of hot and cold water and drainage systems. Service and maintain backflow prevention devices.

Works in both indoor and outdoor environments. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and/or carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces, depending on specific work site. May be periodically exposed to confined spaces, and inclement weather conditions, or other work conditions determined by nature of work.

• Must be able to pass respirator fit test requirements in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134.


• Valid state driver’s license.


• Must be able to obtain Flight line driving permit.


• Five years’ experience at Journeyman plumber level.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English to an eighth grade level for a working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings, as per contract requirement.
