Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks, including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs, and ensure work meets high standards and local codes.

Strong problem-solving and homeowner communication are essential. You will perform installation, maintenance and repairs on water, gas, and sewage systems, test for leaks, and manage job progress while coordinating with homeowners

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and 3 years of driving experience.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with various tools and equipment like pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead apprentices and work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
• Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
• Manage inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle and verify receipts.
• Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions.
• Maintain safety equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. In this role, you will perform service work that includes troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs and installations, and ensure that all work meets high-quality standards and local codes. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
• Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Track record of delivering excellent customer service with professionalism and satisfaction.
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work‑management software to track tasks and report on job progress.
• Ability to lead apprentices, work within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, and using hand tools.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Work exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, rain, ice, or snow.
• Work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces.
