Job summary

G-III Apparel Group is seeking an Assistant Designer – PLM in New York City to support Donna Karan & BCBG Suits. You will manage PLM data, create and revise technical specifications, and coordinate with Design, Sales, Production, and external vendors.

The role emphasizes accuracy in product information, timely communication, and collaboration across departments in a fast-paced environment. On-site in the Fashion District offers exposure to high-profile collections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in apparel design, product development, or related experience.
• Experience working with PLM systems; Centric PLM experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of apparel product development, technical specifications, garment construction, and production processes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• PLM and Product Data: Enter and maintain seasonal styles, trims, and product information in PLM for Donna Karan and BCBG Suits.
• Technical Documentation: Complete Design Specifications (DS) and Technical Sheets for purchase orders. Update and revise DS and TS based on fittings and production requirements.
• Design and Cross‑Functional Support: Attend buy meetings to confirm trims, design changes, construction details, and product updates.
• Samples and Showroom Support: Coordinate showroom, Advertising, PR, and Corporate samples and assist with showroom preparations.
• Production and Approvals: Partner with Production on hangtags, callout labels, packaging, and branding requirements; maintain approval records.
• Seasonal Organization: Assign style numbers and coordinate special product add-ons for Sales and Merchandising.
