Job summary

Supernal in Irvine seeks an experienced Lead, PLM Architecture & Digital Tools Engineer to manage the engineering development team and oversee all digital tools. You will drive the PLM system, integrate CAD/CAE/simulation tools, and ensure a fully connected digital thread across the product value stream.

You will partner with IT and operations, administer licenses and databases, and guide the deployment of scalable, secure engineering platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or IT field is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Eight years of aerospace experience leading digital tools engineering activities.
• Extensive understanding of modern PLM/CAD systems.
• Experience with Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE systems.
• Experience with purchasing these systems and their licensing models.
• Experience leading teams and project management.
• Experience with aircraft development programs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work within time constraints.

Responsibilities

• standing up and managing the PLM system and digital toolsets for product development including CAD, CAE, simulation, program management, and requirements management
• Evaluate tool integration with downstream digital tools and enable a digital backbone for a full digital thread
• Assess connected factory/industry 4.0 tools and inform operations on benefits and technologies
• Integrate with IT to ensure a stable, secure platform
• Administer licensing: FlexNet, RLM, and Dassault Systèmes DSLS
• Administer MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB databases
• Install and administer engineering apps on Windows and Ubuntu servers
• Develop elastic server architecture scalable with demand
• Understand 3DEXPERIENCE data model and guide team using out-of-the-box features
• Architect and manage 3DEXPERIENCE security model with IP protection and compliance
• Translate PLM requirements into scalable architectures; collaborate with external developers
• Administer Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE and IBM DOORS Next for reliable performance
• Plan budget for digital tool landscape based on licenses and business needs
• Negotiate with software vendors to optimize license mix
• Mentor colleagues and guide teams through aerospace data hierarchies and security
• Potentially broaden to leadership within or outside engineering
