Job summary

Hydro Extrusions USA, LLC in Yankton, SD is seeking a PLC Technician to support installation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of PLC-controlled automation equipment. You will perform wiring, set up I/O, read schematics, and assist senior technicians in testing and commissioning.

Must have 0-5 years experience with ladder logic basics, sensors and industrial networks; familiarity with RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 preferred.

Qualifications

  • 0-5 years of experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
  • Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
  • Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks and PLC-to-device communications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation equipment.
  • Basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup.
  • Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware.
  • Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
  • Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning.
  • Maintain documentation and logs of work performed.
  • Configure, scale, and troubleshoot analog signals and instrumentation.
  • Perform basic PLC program uploads, downloads, and online monitoring.
  • Use multimeters and basic electrical testing equipment.

What you will be doing

  • Ability to interpret PLC fault codes and assist in troubleshooting automation systems.
