Job summary

Techoundsllc is seeking an Electrical Technician/Engineer to support a site’s electrical infrastructure in Corona, CA. You will own the electrical systems, provide direction for maintenance, and coordinate contractor activities across installation, start-up, and validation phases.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with high/low voltage, schematics, and controls, plus welding and fabrication knowledge. Safety-focused teamwork is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with 120V control wiring and 3-phase 480V motor starters.
• Welding and fabrication knowledge and experience.
• Team player and safety-focused with good communication.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and schedules; write routine reports.
• Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry to problems.
• Ability to solve practical problems in variable plant conditions.

Responsibilities

• Own the site electrical business process and provide technical direction.
• Plan, direct and coordinate electrical operation, maintenance and repair activities.
• Review schematics and coordinate installation, commissioning and validation activities.
• Provide support for instruments and controls across utility systems including fire protection.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to prepare controlled documents for startup and operation.
• Serve as electrical system owner and consultant to contractors, vendors and suppliers.

Job description

Responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise to support the site’s electrical infrastructure through optimization, troubleshooting, project management, design, installation, commissioning, start-up, and validation skills. Efforts focus on providing long term support for the operation and maintenance of existing facilities with respect to the electrical power generation and distribution systems. The incumbent serves as the owner of the electrical systems and the electrical business process.

Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Hardware/Software, Variable speed drives, hydraulics, pneumatics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Owner of the site electrical business process which provides direction for maintaining the electrical infrastructure
• Works under very general supervision and guidance, with more detailed instructions on new assignments. Works with manager to establish priorities and timelines
• Uses judgment and discretion to solve a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Seeks guidance from supervisor and more senior peers as needed when determining appropriate courses of action. Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion regarding matters of significance
• Research, design, test and install electrical apparatus, components and equipment
• Plan, direct and coordinate activities in the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems
• Serve as electrical system owner and primary technical consultant by providing electrical engineering expertise, direction, and work oversight to contractors, vendors and suppliers
• Review schematics plans and procedures and make recommendations to management for equipment selection, design, installation, commissioning, and validation. Upon approval, coordinate and/or conduct activities required to implement recommendations
• Provide support for selecting, installing, operating, and troubleshooting instruments and controls associated with utility systems which may include fire protection
• Collaborate with engineering staff to prepare controlled documents in support of the start-up, commissioning, validation and operation of the mechanical/HVAC, electrical and utility systems
• Properly executes Confined Space Entry and Lock Tag Try procedures
• Understands and executes Emergency Action Plans and Procedures related to the work area
• Participates actively in all safety programs established in the plant Keeps work are clean and free of hazards
• Leads efforts to reduce sources of waste
• Properly disposes of any wastes generated
• Makes proper notification on environmental upset, releases, and or hazardous material spills according to procedures
