Job summary

KLA is seeking an Electrical Control Systems Engineer in Milpitas, CA to design and implement PLC-based control systems and HMI interfaces. You will develop PID control loops, wire PLC I/O, and create robust control architectures across FPGA and microcontroller platforms.

Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, validating designs with MATLAB/Python analyses, and guiding projects from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Electrical Engineering.
• Electrical engineering background.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar analysis tools.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Minimum Qualifications Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master’s Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor’s Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Responsibilities

• Design complex PLC logic to automate and control systems.
• Create schematics for control systems (i.e. PLC I/O wiring).
• Develop intuitive HMI solutions to enhance operator usability.
• Design PID control loops for temperature, motion, or other process feedback.
• Oversee projects from initiation to completion across the full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, systems and manufacturing engineers.
• Develop documentation such as assembly and test procedures and service manuals.
